Are you ready to be seriously impressed? We hope the answer is yes because we're about to share the latest Mitsubishi green initiative with you...and we have a feeling it'll leave you floored. In an effort to go green inside and out, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has dived in to the development of new eco-friendly materials called "Green Plastics." Plant-based and 100-percent Mother Nature approved, the materials have the potential to find their way throughout many vehicle components. For now, Green Plastics will start at floor.
If you purchase a new Mitsubishi model come summer of 2012, you might just find yourself resting your feet upon a very green mat. And we're not talking about the color. In simple terms, the new Mitsubishi floor mat option is woven together from plant-based fibers. Those fibers come from a resin made using sugarcane molasses. In order to ensure that the mat handles wear and tear along with varying temperatures, the fibers are wrapped in petroleum-based polypropylene sheaths. Ok...so maybe not the simplest terms possible. But the point is that it works, and works well at that.
Taking models such as the Mitsubishi i and its top-rated fuel-economy into consideration, Jeff D'Ambrosio Mitsubishi in Downingtown has already determined that the automaker is planning for the future of our earth. Add in the latest Green Plastics development and Mitsubishi may just have what it takes to truly foster change.
