Mitsubishi Helps Illinois Town Go From 'Normal' to EVTOWN

Imagine for a second a world in which everyone was environmentally aware and working together to lower our carbon footprint. That world would be pretty incredible to live in. As a planet, we might not quite be there yet but towns like Normal, Illinois are making some pretty remarkable steps.

Kicking off a brand-new marketing campaign, Normal will invite more Mitsubishi i 100% electric vehicles into its borders than any other place in the country. Starting this month the campaign positions the Mitsubishi EV as the "Most Likable Car On the Planet" and follows the automaker as it transforms Normal into EVTOWN, the EV capital of America. Not all towns and not all automotive companies would be open to such a revolutionary idea. But Mayor of Normal Chris Koos explains that the town's population is "embracing new technology in an environmentally sound way."1

In order to make this unique effort a success, Mitsubishi will deliver 100 Mitsubishi i EV models to the town as well as install 30 safe and convenient charging stations. A strong backbone of support is also a key element to the EVTOWN endeavor. Fortunately for Normal, a collection of government representatives, business officials, and intrigued sponsors have deep-seated belief in the copious benefits that will come from it.

Creating an entire EV town is by far the most interesting effort of the new Mitsubishi marketing campaign. However, it is not the only one. Over this month and the next, the automaker will travel up and down the west coast to give EV fans a chance to experience the Mitsubishi i for themselves. Participants in the "Mitsubishi i 100% Electric Experience" will also be able to learn more about the model from a team of experts.

While Jeff D'Ambrosio Mitsubishi at 1221 E. Lancaster Ave Downingtown, PA may not be located on the west coast, we are still more than happy to share all of our Mitsubishi knowledge.
