Mitsubishi i EV Slides Into U.S. Market

When an automaker puts a lot of effort into a model, Jeff D'Ambrosio Mitsubishi likes to see it prosper. More specifically, we are talking about the Mitsubishi i EV (i-MiEV) which currently sells in Japan and parts of Europe. As we mentioned, however, masterminds at Mitsubishi have worked too hard on the electric vehicle to contain it within these markets alone. That is why the automaker will soon be letting the model test out the U.S. waters as well.

Beginning at the end of this month, an American tailored variant of the i-MiEV will arrive in the states of Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii. By the end of next year, consumers all across the United States and Canada can get in on the Mitsubishi i EV action. What makes the upcoming variant different than what we've seen before? In order to meet the demands of our domestic market, the model has received "slightly more grunt"1 as well as new front and rear bumpers to enforce stability. Following in the trail of "smart", American-made systems, the new i-MiEV features a highly advanced airbag structure which can detect a passenger's seating position and monitor the force at which an airbag is deployed. Lastly, drivers will find added room in a larger vehicle body and greater control with a tire pressure monitoring system.

Now, we at Jeff D'Ambrosio Mitsubishi know not everyone is as EV ecstatic as we are. Even some Mitsubishi lovers may be skeptical. That is why we invite you to contact us online or drop by 1221 E. Lancaster Ave. Downingtown, PA 19335 and speak with us in person. We'd love to answer any electric vehicle questions you may have. Or, if you're more interested in checking out a different new Mitsubishi model, let us know and we'll set up a test drive at your earliest convenience.
